PlanThe cost of college is intimidating for the majority of college students – they often don't understand how they could ever come up with that amount of money, and rightly so! Step 2 identifies all of the sources for meeting college costs and explains the benefits of each. When you can help make students aware of all of the financial help that will be available to them, you can help them overcome this common barrier to college planning.

Scholarship Night Presentation Tools From Good Grades to Skateboarding, There's a College Scholarship for You gives students and families all of the tools they need to find and apply for scholarships. The presentation includes a number of supporting handouts for your students as well as promotional materials for your use.
The College Justificator The College Justificator guide shows how education, occupational opportunities, income, and student loan debt can be closely related.

360 Degrees of Financial Literacy is a website developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants that provides financial information for people at various stages in life. The College section of the site offers articles about budgeting, financial management, using credit, and financial aid. The Financial Topics section of the site also includes online tools and FAQs to provide additional help and advice on college planning to students and their families.
Cash for College
A guide that contains basic student aid information for prospective students and can be used as a primer for institutional colleagues, trustees, legislators, and community leaders.
The Counselors and Mentors Handbook on Federal Student Aid
Detailed information about federal financial aid programs, how to select a school, the FAFSA, and the financial aid application process. The handbook is also available in Spanish.
Education Pays Publication
This publication, Education Pays: The Benefits of Higher Education for Individuals and Society, presents detailed evidence of both the private and public benefits of higher education. It also sheds light on the distribution of these benefits by examining both the progress and the persistent disparities in participation in postsecondary education.
FAFSA – Free Application for Federal Student Aid
On the Department of Education's FAFSA website, students can complete the FAFSA online and make changes to their FAFSA applications as necessary. The website also provides general information about the FAFSA and instructions for completing it.
FAFSA4caster
By using FAFSA4caster, students and families will receive an early estimate of eligibility for federal student aid. When they're ready to apply for aid, they can easily transition from FAFSA4caster to FAFSA on the Web. Much of the information that they enter in the FAFSA4caster will populate their FAFSA on the Web application, making the experience of applying for federal student aid a lot easier.
